Focusing Calibration Scales on NIKKOR F Lenses

Calibration in feet only with tick marks

The distance scale on the focusing ring is calibrated in feet only. There are small markings below the range numbers, called «tick marks». The engravings are filled out with white enamel. Produced for the U.S. and U.K. market.

Calibration in feet and meters (1)

The distance scale on the focusing ring is calibrated in feet and meters. Infinty setting is on the left side. The feet scale is filled with yellow enamel and is situated above the meter scale filled out with white enamel.

On later lenses with rubber focusing ring the word «feet» is abbreviated to «ft».

The distance scale on the focusing ring is calibrated in meters and feet. Infinty setting is on the left side. The feet scale is filled with yellow enamel and is situated below the meter scale filled out with white enamel.
